As long as the sound of Jazz Lives, as long as jazz musicians jam, two words will always be a part of the scene…  John Coltrane.

In 1964 Coltrane walked into Van Gelder Studios in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey and recorded this never-heard recording, “Blue World.” Approached by Quebecois filmmaker, Gilles Groulx a dedicated fan, John amazingly accepted the invitation to record the soundtrack for his film.

“Blue World” has been mastered from its original analog tape by Kevin Reeves at Universal Music Mastering in New York. Available in CD, Vinyl LP and Digital Editions by Impulse!/Ume

The stimulating chemistry of the definitive Coltrane quartet sound is heard throughout. A chance to step back in time and experience new performances and modal innovations by the masters is a rare treasure - MusicMonthly.com
